By Matt Neglia

Bleecker Street has released the trailer for “The World To Come” starring Katherine Waterston, Vanessa Kirby, Christopher Abbott & Casey Affleck. It will be released on February 12th in theaters and on digital on March 2nd.

Plot Synopsis:
Somewhere along the mid-19th century American East Coast frontier, two neighboring couples battle hardship and isolation, witnessed by a splendid yet testing landscape, challenging them both physically and psychologically.

What do you all think of the trailer? The World To Come” shocked me when I saw the film at the Venice Film Festival, as it was not what I was expecting. The performances from everyone are strong but it’s the direction by Mona Fastvold that really impressed me, especially the unorthodox score by Daniel Blumberg and the chilly cinematography by Andre Chemetoff that evokes the work of “McCabe & Mrs. Miller.” It’s definitely a more moody and atmospheric film than what the trailer is letting on but I think its intended audience will appreciate what’s on display here. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on our Twitter account.
